Google Chrome Announcement... Headon with Microsoft!

Google has announced about its operating system. If we analyse the journey of Google from a search engine to media conglomerate to enabler of technology at lowest price.
It was speculated in media since long that one day Google will launch an OS (Operating System. Technology enthusiasts were looking for these kind of announcement. The journey of forward integration started when Google launched Chrome then Android and now Chrome OS. If we analyse the steps minutely we find the growth strategy of Google is well planned and suits into their profile. Few weeks back Microsoft launched Bing or one can say re branded its search name.
So the technological war between Google and Microsoft is overt now, both have one or the other mileage on each other like Windows has ruled the kitchen from decades and Google has successfully made its brand generic in terms of Search.

There are positive points Google Chrome OS i would like to touch upon.

1. This operating system is an open source, that is going to be a great topic to discuss in open source community.

2. Speed is tremendous as compared to other Windows.

3. PC, Laptop Vendors have promised to push Google OS.

4. Security is on hardware as well as on Software level.

5. The architecture is simple. It will run on both kind chips (x86 and ARM {Advanced RISC Machines})

6. The most strategic mileage of Google it has reach to billions of people as a media.

Bing! But it is not Google to Because it is not Google

Media is frenzied about the "Bing" the latest venture of Microsoft. Live is now Bing. It is really great to see the result count for "Bing" is 21,300,000 so far.

There are so many responses in media that people are talking nothing but Bing.
There is a contextual quote " There is no such thing as bad publicity".
There are so many Updates and coverage that i feel Microsoft stop investing money it has set aside for Bing campaign. I believe the game of search is coming back to the same orb of the circle of history. Initially there were many players in search like Goto, Alta Vista and many more then Yahoo acquires Overture then the game started changing...
Google proved the market leader in just few years....
Now Bing will bring back the search to the level of many players more competition and less monopoly..
Since Google has became verb for Search it has dominated the market lets expect at least leveling of the game. Media is clamoring this is Microsoft's last battle some are saying desperate but i believe this will give at least shove to Google to think more judiciously..

Bingoistic – Bing Review

Microsoft is launching Bing with great fervor and is optimistic about the success, so don’t take “Bingoistic” as (Bing + Jingoistic) take it – Bing + Optimistic.

Microsoft (MSFT) is lunching Bing soon. Google has successfully engraved the noun Google to Google verb for search. It will be premature decision to say anything about Bing. MSFT is launching a campaign costing $80 million to $100 million for Bing. MSFT has hardly lost a war in most of the business arena. It has been observed whenever MSFT launches a product people start commenting negatively without analyzing the potential of the product.

There are some salient features I would like to touch upon which I found is interesting.

Media is speculating a lot over the potential of Bing. There are some obvious question came up and discussed in the media – Will Bing erode the market share of Google?

Looking at the presentation at Bing official website one thing is clear that Comparison, travel, local listing and health related sites will have tough times in a year or so.

Media and technology thinkers have different view on Bing. Some are saying it will be a flop show some are contemplating that it will remove the noise level compared to Google. Historically whenever Microsoft has launched a product there are so much speculation. People are commenting Microsoft is now Behemoth and it is losing innovation quotient and maneuverability.

Let us wait and watch till the launch of the Bing to come in action!

One can say Chrome is hybrid of open source browser & close source browser.

It is my strong believe that Google will launch an Operating System as an open source for PC too.

Since Android is there for mobile devices i can not doubt that Google will enter PC operating system market.I believe that Google is getting help from open source community to fight Microsoft.

Google is trying to fade away the brand positioning of "Windows" & trying its best to dethrone the leadership through his collaborative efforts.

So looking at the stats it gives us picture that Google wants to woo mobile customers first then PC based browsers. In fact PC browsing has not grown at the speed of mobile users. In the year 2007 mobile users is almost three times than that of PC browsing.

Presently most of the mobile phones are having browsing facility in developed & developing countries & mobile browsing has grown at exponential speed. So there is a huge prospect is there which Google wants to grab first as a free service. Microsoft already has presence in Mobile browser but free browser from Google will give great boost to this industry and it will lead to more development in mobile browser segment. Android is open source initiative by Google & thousands of open source developer can really make a difference by enhancing the functionality of the browser. So one can say that it is kind of collaborative initiative by Google. So development will impact software & hardware market too.
