RIM has been on the hunt for "super apps" to power its PlayBook tablet, and its other devices, even as the company's smartphone share has plunged. Gist may be one of them. Gist is available via iPhone,Android, the  Chrome, Firefox, even Salesforce.com - bt not RIM's Blackberry OS.

"Each client profile at Gist includes information about your contact that you may find useful," AppScout wrote in its early evaluation of Gist. "The service also gives you the ability to rank and tweak the importance of the information that it collects; so if your customer's recent beta software release isn't as important to you as their financial earnings statement, you can tell Gist which you consider more relevant to your needs. Additionally, Gist updates you when news about your clients appears on the Web; so if one of your high-profile clients publishes a white paper, the service may alert you and give you a link to read it."
